SWIM TEAM/STROKE MAINTENANCE

PURPOSE AND GOALS

  • Provide a fun and competitive environment to allow children to continue to evolve the mechanics of all 4 competitive swimming strokes through the fall/winter/spring.
  • Provide a fun and competitive environment to allow children to be involved in an advanced swim training program to gain experience, which can act as a bridge for them and their swimming abilities from swim lessons to a swim team.

 

PREREQUISTE

Swimmer must be 6 years of age and be able to swim safely across the 25-yard pool with ease.  (5 year olds can

be assessed for readiness).


SCHEDULE: SEPTEMBER-MAY

(Swimmers may come as often or little as they like)

Monday            5:00-6:00p

Tuesday           5:00-6:00p

Wednesday     7:00-8:00p

Thursday          8:00-8:00p

Tuesday          1:30-2:30p

Thursday.        1:30-2:30p


ADDITIONAL PRACTICE TIME:

Friday               5p-6p**

Saturday.          11:30a-12:30p**


**One lane will be open for students to come and practice skills but NO coach will be present!  Students can come during any open swim times to practice as well!   One parent will be required to be on deck during this time for any student under the age of 12.


COST

  • MONTHLY $145/month per student (sibling discounts apply); Families will be billed automatically at the first of the month.
  • MONTHLY (HOMESCHOOL): $90.00/month per student; Families will be billed automatically at the first of the month.
  • $20.00- Drop-in per class (can only be done day of class and on site).


**NOTE: This is a membership program.  Families will be billed monthly on the 1st.  To cancel, submit in writing within 5 days of current month for next month (i.e. November 5th to cancel in December).


  • Students will learn mechanics of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.  They will also learn starts and turns in additional to getting land strength and conditioning training.


REQUIRED MATERIALS FOR CLASS:

Female Students must have a one piece suit and male students can wear trunks but jammers are preferred.  Caps and googles required.  Kick board, fins and pull buoy are recommended but not required.
